Light In The Attic Records proudly presents "Nancy Sinatra: Start Walkin’ 1965–1976." This definitive collection showcases Sinatra’s most prolific years, from 1965 to 1976, featuring 23 tracks, including her celebrated collaborations with Lee Hazlewood.
Remastered from the original analog tapes by GRAMMY®–nominated engineer John Baldwin, this compilation is enriched with liner notes by Amanda Petrusich, author and music critic at The New Yorker. The notes include insightful new interviews with Sinatra and a Q&A with archivist and GRAMMY®–nominated reissue co-producer Hunter Lea. The CD edition is housed in a 7”x7” hardcover book with 64 pages, while the two-disc vinyl set comes in a gatefold jacket with a 24-page booklet. Special color editions are available exclusively at NancySinatra.com, LightInTheAttic.net, and independent record stores.
Nancy’s performance of the Lee Hazlewood-penned hit “These Boots Are Made for Walkin’” became her signature tune in 1966. This kicked off a successful three-year partnership with Hazlewood, resulting in albums, duets, and singles like “Sugar Town,” “Some Velvet Morning,” “Summer Wine,” “Sand,” “Jackson,” and the title track for the 1967 James Bond film "You Only Live Twice."
"Start Walkin’" delves into Nancy’s collaborations with Lee Hazlewood, her inspired work with songwriter Mac Davis (“Hello L.A., Bye Bye Birmingham”), producer Lenny Waronker (“Hook and Ladder”), and the should-have-been-hit “How Are Things In California?” with arranger/producer Billy Strange.
Over the years, Nancy Sinatra has influenced countless artists, including Sonic Youth, Morrissey, Calexico, U2, and Lana Del Rey. Her haunting song “Bang, Bang” gained a new generation of fans when it was featured in the opening credits of Quentin Tarantino’s 2003 film "Kill Bill Volume 1."
