Description

"Even the Forest Hums: Ukrainian Sonic Archives 1971-1996" is a comprehensive and meticulously curated collection that offers an in-depth exploration of Ukraine's vibrant music scene during a period of immense societal and political upheaval. Spanning four decades, this record brings together a diverse range of tracks that reflect the resilience, creativity, and spirit of the Ukrainian people.

Curated by Vitalii “Bard” Bardetskyi, the collection delves into the underrepresented yet profoundly impactful music that emerged under Soviet-era restrictions and beyond. The tracks encapsulate the evolution of Ukrainian music, from "Mustache Funk" blending traditional Ukrainian elements with Western influences, to the underground experimental sounds that flourished in the 80s and 90s.

This release is not just a musical journey but a historical document, featuring insightful liner notes that guide listeners through each track, providing context and commentary on the cultural and political landscapes that shaped these sounds. The collection is housed in a stunning gatefold jacket adorned with the beloved folk art of Maria Prymachenko.

As a commitment to supporting Ukraine during its current challenges, Light in the Attic will donate a portion of the proceeds from this release to Livyj Bereh, a volunteer group dedicated to rebuilding war-torn regions of Ukraine.

Additionally, the Arcline Shop team will also donate a portion of the profits to the mentioned volunteer project.

    Frequently asked questions

    FAQ

    Are these releases officially licensed?

Absolutely! All the music from our distribution partners comes with official licensing. Royalty from each your purchase on our website goes directly to the right owners, because we support the artists and their hard work. And we stand firmly against bootlegging and counterfeiting.

    Is the vinyl color guaranteed?

Due to the nature of vinyl production, only releases with black vinyl can be guaranteed. As for colored or splatter releases actual vinyl record color may look a bit different since we use mock ups on the website. However, on the other hand, each of these records is unique and one of a kind.

    What is a "pre-orders"?

When a product is labeled as "Pre-Order," it indicates that the item is currently in production and will be shipped at a later date. You can always find the estimated shipping timelines in the product description, just below the "Preorder" button. Keep in mind that some records may have limited Pre-Order availability and could sell out before they officially arrive in stock.

If your order includes one or more Pre-Order items, the entire order will be held until all Pre-Order items are ready to ship.

Why there only "estimated shipping date"?

We usually receiving "estimated shipping date" from various suppliers and labels, because sometimes there is delays which beyond our or our partners control. We strive to keep these estimated dates as current as possible, but please remember that they are always approximations and not guaranteed delivery timelines.

    What does Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4 mean?

Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4 refer to different quarters of the year. We use quarterly format to indicate the timeframe for upcoming releases because the production of vinyl records can be quite complex. Factors such as manufacturing schedules, shipping logistics, and quality control can impact timelines. By providing a quarterly estimate, we can give you a better idea of when to expect your order, while still accounting for any potential delays that may arise during the production process.

Can I return a vinyl record if I don’t like it?

We got you covered in this one! If you’re not satisfied with your purchase, you can return it within 30 days for a full refund, provided it’s in its original condition.
