Description

Homeworld’s music is the sound of space rendered as memory - ambient, lonely, and awe-struck - built under unusual constraints that ended up defining its identity. With a minimal, early setup of synth, sampler, and sequencer, composer Paul Ruskay crafted instinctive live mixes that became inseparable from the game’s sense of scale, distance, and quiet dread.

For the Remastered Collection, Ruskay returned to the original DAT tapes and old Pro Tools sessions, reconstructed uncompressed versions, and carefully widened the mixes with subtle additions before remixing and resequencing the score with a faithful hand. This 2LP edition captures that restored presentation in a clean, heavyweight format with a premium silver-laminated sleeve, preserving one of strategy gaming’s most iconic soundscapes.
