Description

Time is a beautiful early Hiroshi Sato record that already shows the melodic elegance and groove sense that made him such an important figure in Japanese music. Backed by a remarkable lineup including Haruomi Hosono, Tatsuo Hayashi, Shuichi “Ponta” Murakami and others, the album moves effortlessly between mellow, late-night songwriting and sharp rhythm-driven moments. Tracks like Minami Kaikisen, Yamate Hotel, and Saigo no Tejina carry a soft, sophisticated warmth, while Bad Junky Blues brings a deeper funk edge that makes this LP especially rewarding. For city pop and Japanese groove collectors, this is an essential piece of the story.
