Samurai Champloo Music Record: Impression collects hip-hop cues written for Shinichiro Watanabe's 2004 anime, pairing Edo-period settings with breakbeats, samples, and spare instrumental writing. FORCE OF NATURE, Nujabes, and fat jon each take a block of the album, so the set shifts from club-oriented drums to Nujabes' sample-based cuts and fat jon's leaner instrumentals used under the series' travel and fight scenes.
This Japanese CD is FlyingDog's 20th-anniversary reissue of the 2004 album, housed in a paper mini-LP sleeve. The 23-track program includes FORCE OF NATURE's opening sequence, Nujabes pieces such as sanctuary ship and world without words, fat jon instrumentals in the closing stretch, and MINMI's vocal track Who's Theme.
