Where the first volume introduced the breadth of Wa-Jazz through another major archive, this follow-up emphasizes the weight and intensity of Japan’s jazz language - deep grooves, heavy ensemble writing, and a distinctly Japanese sense of space, drama, and color.

Ogawa’s sequencing makes the compilation feel like a condensed history lesson without losing flow: each track is chosen to reveal a different angle of the King Records sound, from hard-driving modern jazz to more atmospheric, cinematic passages.
